CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION, MAI : • Performs payment of claims within 10 calendar days • Pays in any convertible currency by cheque or bank-to-bank transfer in the currency of each employee’s bank account • Handles hospitalizations throughout the world on a direct-billing basis • Performs statistical monitoring of claims • Delivers real-time reports and analyses • Interacts with insured individuals, doctors, medical facilities, employees and management to handle claims and solve issues COST CONTROL, MAI : • Verifies medical justification of invoices • Pre-certifies procedures and uses second opinions where appropriate • Applies reasonable and customary cost limits • Negotiates reductions with hospitals and major providers • Performs case management of chronic illnesses, hospitalizations, and major medical problems • Performs statistical monitoring of claims and cost control recommendations |
